November 2017 News Feed – Beef Convention Preview Edition

 

The latest edition of The News Feed is now online.

This issue features a preview of the 2018 Beef Industry Convention that is coming up Jan. 11-13 in London. Another great program is planned for our valued partners and guests. We’ll be celebrating an important milestone as this will be the 20th annual edition of our industry showcase.

Check out the Convention agenda and the bios of our speakers. You’ll also find the registration form and the 2018 OCFA membership form inside.

Teaming up with our distribution partners, Shanghai Gourmet Garden and JAC International, we attended SIAL in Shanghai, which is recognized as the largest food show in China.

Ontario Corn Fed Beef Receives Internationally Recognized  ‘Superior Taste Award’

Local beef awarded with three golden stars for exceptional taste

June 7, 2017 – London, ON – Ontario Corn Fed Beef has received a 3 Star “Superior Taste Award” from the International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi) for their quality beef.  The “Superior Taste Award” is the only stamp of quality in taste granted by 135 food and drink opinion leaders that are Michelin starred Chefs and Sommeliers.  Today’s consumers are demanding exceptional quality and taste and receiving this award demonstrates Ontario Corn Fed Beef has what it takes to meet this high demand at home and around the world.

Ontario Corn Fed Beef proudly partners with SIR Corp

Demand for quality local beef growing

May 30, 2017 – London, ON – Ontario Corn Fed Beef is proud to be on the menus at Service Inspired Restaurants (SIR Corp) locations across Ontario, with two of their most popular cuts: OCFB Strip Loins and Sirloins.

The first of the SIR Corp brands to launch this program was Canyon Creek. Opened in 1997 a big part of Canyon Creek’s business is the beef, named one of the top 50 steakhouses in Canada by OpenTable in 2016. Canyon Creek is described as a casual, yet elegant, atmosphere for lunch, dinner or late-night dining. Canyon Creek Executive Chef Dorian King is excited about the opportunity to offer Ontario Corn Fed Beef on the menu. In addition to the taste and the quality of the product, King is proud to be supporting the family farms producing Ontario Corn Fed Beef.  King says supporting the local community is important to the entire SIR Corp organization.

As another grilling season is well underway, the Ontario Corn Fed Beef Program is making new gains and establishing meaningful relationships in markets at home and around the world.

Under the Canada Corn Fed Banner, OCFB was a hit with visitors at an outstanding food show in Jakarta, Indonesia in April. In addition to the Jakarta event, Canada Corn Fed Beef attracted more interest at the Gulfood show in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Closer to home, OCFB is excited about the new partnership with a major restaurant chain. The executive chef of Canyon Creek Restaurants is equally thrilled with the opportunity to serve a quality product while also supporting the Ontario farming community.
