The world is discovering the great taste of Ontario Corn Fed Beef.
John Baker, Director of Business Development, was in the Middle East to participate in two significant trade events in the region.
From November 18-20, OCFB participated at the Saudi HRECA trade show event in Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In partnership with Riz Global Foods, a licensed distributor of Ontario Corn Fed Beef whose main focus is in the Middle East market, and the Gulfwest Company, a leading distributor in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ontario Corn Fed Beef was featured to over 15,000 attendees of the annual event.
Samples were provided with very positive reviews to guests from all over Saudi Arabia including five-star hotel executive chefs to major retail chains.
The brand was recently launched at supermarkets across Saudi Arabia with rave reviews.
Also in November from the 24th -26th Ontario Corn Fed Beef was on display again at the SIAL Middle East show in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
SIAL Middle East 2014 was inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The annual event featured over 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries that were present to display their newest food related products and services.
Exhibitors at the event included competing import beef products from Australia, USA, New Zealand, South Africa and Russia.
Over 10,000 visitors from all across the Gulf region including UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia were very interested in the high quality of Ontario Corn Fed Beef.
With brand licensed distribution partners now in place in key markets across the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) as well as Saudi Arabia, the potential for growth is very encouraging.
Demand for high quality beef is increasing across the Middle East. The region is experiencing strong growth in the five-star hotel segment in many markets. Combined with growing retail sector for high quality beef, Ontario Corn Fed Beef is well positioned for sustainable growth.
“Branded beef from Canada with consistent quality and eating experience is lacking in the Middle East. Ontario Corn Fed Beef fills this gap in the market with a strong brand equity and quality eating experience, very much required to distinguish and compete with international brands from Australia and other countries,” says Syed Ali, President of Riz Global Foods.
GDP growth for the region is projected to grow on average at a rate of 4.8% annually up to 2015, twice the projected growth rate for North America, and second only in the world after Asia.
“The growth opportunities for the brand in the Gulf region are tremendous” says Baker. “We have established strong distributor relationships with leading distributors in the region and are working to create strong brand awareness based on the unique attributes of the brand.”
“The seasonal demand cycle of the region runs opposite to the peak demand season of our domestic market so it provides an opportunity to increase overall value throughout the year,” says Baker.
According to Baker, the quality assurance and production-related attributes of the OCFB brand resonate extremely well in the high valued segments of the market. “They understand, and value the consistent quality that our feeding protocol provides as well.”
Ontario Corn Fed Beef will continue its market development activities through participation in Gulfood, the region’s largest food exhibition in the Middle East, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in February 2015.
